They are for oral care of both dogs and cats. Having your dog go under anesthetic at the vet can be dangerous and even deadly for some dogs as they have adverse reactions to it. These products are completely safe and all natrual.

The products are made by Petzlife and come in both a spray and a gel. The spray is simple. Just spray a 2 or 3 sprays into your dog’s mouth at bedtime with no food or water for at least 30 minutes before and after.

The gel takes a little more work, but it works faster. Use your finger or a soft toothbrush to rub onto your dog’s teeth and gums. Every few days during this process give your dog’s teeth some brushing. Great results can usually be seen in 2 to 3 weeks.

The salmon flavored gel is formulated just for cats. The spray does not work well with them.

We are glad to split the order anyway you wish.
During checkout there is a “comments” section which allows special order requests or other questions.

http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/07/13/glucosamine-choice/ http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/07/13/glucosamine-choice/#comments Fri, 14 Jul 2006 02:07:33 +0000 Steve Weber http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/07/13/glucosamine-choice/ We have many customers who order both Syn-flex and Flexicose. I want to remind everyone that you may split your order any way you wish with no additional charge. For example, we have many customers who order six bottles and wish to have three Flexicose and three Syn-flex. I do not have a shopping cart item for this exact combination. But if you wish to split the order, simply write us a message in the “comments” section of your checkout page. Just let us know you wish to split the order and in what way.

Both Flexicose and Syn-flex are fine products. They each contain 1500 mg of glucosamine, but some of the additional ingredients are different. Therefore, many of our customers choose to get the best of both brands by alternating between the two. Although Flexicose has a grape flavor and Syn-flex is Mandarin orange flavored, most users mix the product into a drink. We prefer ours in orange juice. And most dogs don’t care which they receive. Read more about Flexicose and Syn-flex for pets.

Arthritis Treatment for Dogs http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/23/arthritis-dogs/ http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/23/arthritis-dogs/#comments Sat, 24 Jun 2006 01:32:24 +0000 Steve Weber http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/23/arthritis-dogs/ I have several pages on both of our glucosamine sites concerning the fact that there is only one formula of Flexicose, one formula of Synflex 1500, and one formula of regular Synflex. There is no such thing as a “pet formula” of Synflex or Flexicose. Although “pet” formulas of each are advertised and sold, only the labels are different. To limit confusion we only stock our liquid glucosamine with the regular label. We, as well as many of our customers, open one bottle at a time and share with our dogs.

Here I am running with one of my dogs, Avie.

Along the lines of using Synflex and Flexicose liquid glucosamine for pets, I’d like to also point out that most our customers who purchase our products for the pets are using it for dogs. Although we do have some customers who purchase Flexicose or Synflex for their cats, and even more for their horses with arthritis, the vast majority of pet purchases are used as an arthritis treatment for dogs. It is extremely rare for a dog to turn his or her nose up at either Flexicose or Synflex. Most dogs simply don’t mind if it’s on their food. Cats are a different matter. It may take some coaxing or trickery to get a cat to eat their food if something….anything….is on their food which isn’t normally there. We suggest finding something to pour over your cat’s food which he or she does like. And then simply mix the liquid glucosamine into that. Large pet stores sell “toppings” for dry food to entice cats to better eat which may work for finicky cats.

Synflex and Flexicose Compared http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/18/flexicose-and-synflex/ http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/18/flexicose-and-synflex/#comments Mon, 19 Jun 2006 01:36:46 +0000 Steve Weber http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/18/flexicose-and-synflex/ I received another email from a customer a few days ago wanting to know about the differences between Synflex and Flexicose. We get this question almost daily concerning our two liquid glucosamine products. I have created a page about the differences between Flexicose and Synflex which I sent him the link to. He had been reading about the benefits of liquid glucosamine when used for arthritis and joint pain, and he was going to make a purchase. But he was still studying on which brand to purchase.

He also said a friend of his had pointed out that the reason pharmacies don’t usually handle liquid glucosamine is the fact that the shelf life is not very long. He was concerned about this. I replied that the expiration dates on the Flexicose and Synflex we sell are always approximately 16 months from the date of purchase…give or take a few months. This is plenty long enough for individuals to stock up with six to twelve bottles or more. But I suppose he could have a point about the big stores not wanting to stock products which will expire in that time period.

He was also under the impression he would need to refrigerate all he purchased. I replied that refrigeration of Synflex and Flexicose was not necessary before they were opened. But after opening, Flexicose needs to be refrigerated. Before opening liquid glucosamine, simply store it in a cool place in your home.

PowerPlus Roll-On Glucosamine http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/10/power-plus/ http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/10/power-plus/#comments Sun, 11 Jun 2006 01:16:20 +0000 Steve Weber http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/10/power-plus/ I have to admit it. I am a skeptical person when it comes to believing something unless I have first-hand experience with it. Our new product, PowerPlus, was a perfect example of my skepticism. Although we’ve had great success with both Synflex and Flexicose liquid glucosamines, for some reason I had a hard time believing a roll-on version would work as advertised. Since Synflex was so popular, we decided to add PowerPlus to our product line, and shortly thereafter I had occasion to put it to the test.

PowerPlus is made by Activexamerica, the makers of Syn-flex Liquid Glucosamine. It comes in a handy roll-on and I have first-hand experience it works!

Back in the fall I built a carport over our driveway. I was using some pretty heavy beams, and one of them got away from me and came down on my shoulder. It hurt pretty bad, but the pain didn’t last too long. However, over the next couple of days and then weeks, I started getting some pretty extreme stiffness in that shoulder’s joint. In fact, it down right hurt to move it in certain ways. So I decided to try the PowerPlus. I had Kay open one up and rub it all over my shoulder. It has a pretty strong menthol odor to it and has a warm feeling when applied. I was AMAZED! In about 10 minutes 90% of the pain and stiffness was gone! I could still feel some, and it was still a little stiff, but almost all the pain was gone. And best of all, it stayed gone for quite a few hours to come.

The PowerPlus really worked for me that day. And the next day, my shoulder was stiff and sore feeling again, but not as bad. But when I put the PowerPlus on, I enjoyed the same results as the day before. The pain all but left in just a few minutes and remained gone for quite a few hours. I repeated this numerous times over the next few weeks until the pain was finally gone altogether. Of course, I cannot say that the PowerPlus was responsible for the pain finally leaving for good. It may in fact have left on its own. But I do know the PowerPlus really helped ease the pain for me on a day to day basis.

Super Reds and Triple Greens Drink Mix http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/10/super-reds/ http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/10/super-reds/#comments Sat, 10 Jun 2006 20:24:56 +0000 Steve Weber http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/10/super-reds/ About 2 years ago Kay and I were in the car listening to the radio, and one of those long infomercials came on. Normally we would have turned the station, but something caught Kay’s ear, and she wanted to listen for a while. It was a commercial by Purity Products about their Triple Greens Drink mix. They sure made it sound great! When we got home, Kay got on the computer and ordered one canister of Triple Greens. I think she paid $39.95 plus shipping! I thought that sounded like a lot at the time. We received it in a week and tried it.

Order Triple Greens Here       Just $26.95

She mixed some for me in very cold water and I tried it. I have to admit I was not crazy about it. But I did drink it all, and found that the next day it tasted better. In fact, it seemed to get better tasting every day thereafter…..more on that later. We eventually discovered that Triple Greens really tasted good in orange juice. We ordered another canister and started having it in orange juice each morning. If you do try taking yours in water, be sure the water is VERY cold. That is about the only way it is good in plain water. Also, it takes a LOT of brisk stirring to get it all dissolved.

By the second canister of Triple Greens, we found ourselves REALLY looking forward to it each morning. I started waking up in the mornings feeling anxious to go mix my Triple Greens. Here is my theory on that:

Although its not addictive in the same sense alcohol or drugs are, it does seem to cause one to crave it. Why? Well, I think it is because it does make your body and mind feel better. And like a drug which causes a high, it induces good feelings after drinking it. Therefore, it causes the brain to anticipate it and crave it. In my opinion, anything that can cause you to feel that much better naturally, has to be good for you.

The infomercial promised Triple Greens would provide more energy, more mental alertness, and an overall feeling of well being. Although skeptical when I first heard the claims, I can honestly say it does all the above for us! We LOVE our Triple Greens! Since then, we have also added Super Reds to our morning drink. Along those lines, let me remind everyone that these drinks are very potent. It is possible they may be a little rich for your stomach at first. If you have any stomach problems from them at first, simply cut back to half a scoop each day until your system gets used to them. In fact, I have found that one scoop of Triple Greens and one scoop of Super Reds is about all my system can handle at once. Sometimes I eat an apple or banana a little later, and it is almost too much for my stomach to handle. There are a lot of fruits and vegetables in those little scoops. Give your system time to digest them before eating too much else.

Flexicose vs. Synflex http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/09/flexicose-vs-synflex/ http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/09/flexicose-vs-synflex/#comments Sat, 10 Jun 2006 03:38:44 +0000 Steve Weber http://cactuscanyon.com/health/2006/06/09/flexicose-vs-synflex/ I just received another email from a lady in New York wanting to know the differences between Syn-flex and Flexicose liquid glucosamine. She wondered which she should purchase. I have created a web page on this topic: Compare Synflex and Flexicose

Although we started with Synflex liquid glucosamine, we now use both products in our home. My old dog, Storm, had arthritis in his later years. We discovered Synflex while looking for an alternative to the Aspirin (which almost killed him), and Rimadyl (which we had read of the potentially bad side effects). Here is the Aspirin for Dogs article about Storm’s near death experience with it.

We started selling Synflex about 2 1/2 years ago after we saw how great it worked for Storm. And about 1 1/2 years ago we tried Flexicose liquid glucosamine, liked it, and started selling it too. Now we open one bottle at a time and alternate brands. When we use up a bottle of Flexicose, we’ll open a bottle of Synflex next. We don’t see any difference in their effects. Although many of our customers swear by one brand or the other, I think it probably only matters which they start with. Most people will stick with what they started with if it is working for them.

Although we feel the positive effects of each are the same, there are some differences in each product some people may prefer. Flexicose has a grape flavor and needs to be refrigerated AFTER it is opened. Before opening the bottle you may simply store it in a cool place in your home. Synflex 1500 has the new mandarin orange taste and does not need to be refrigerated after opening. Some customers prefer one flavor over the other. And although some of our customers do take their glucosamine “straight”, we prefer it mixed in juice. In fact, you can read about our morning drink here.

So when the question of which brand to purchase comes up, I really don’t have a definite answer. But keep in mind that many of our customers will specify in the comments section of the shopping cart that they would like to have some of each brand. For example, a customer may order 6 bottles of Flexicose or Synflex and specify they would like to have 3 bottles of each. They are the same price, so you may mix and match any way you would like.
